Accept or authorize the acceptance of new business cases or increases to existing policies within prescribed limits of personal authority, on a sound and profitable portfolio basis Lead a team to perform underwriting assessment on new business application and review and recommend cases from underwriters, including large amount and complex cases Develop UW Insurance Centre of Excellence to standardize practice for wide-scale adoption and provide thought leadership and directions in Operations. Proactively take part and support ad-hoc projects of strategic nature (Growth Agenda, New Set-up, Migration, expansion of Insurance Operations footprint in GSC) In partnership with the markets, lead and improve the KPIs/SLAs to drive better customer & business outcomes Provide PMO support to monitor, manage and govern Global Insurance strategy & transformation programs / initiatives Provide consultancy, design and delivery services to lines of business and functions at different stages of transformation cycle Build working relationships with Global and Country stakeholders based on trust and display role model qualities Ongoing support of the insurance distribution operations and reporting requirements. The Successful Applicant Qualifications Possess a degree qualification and having professional qualification; LOMA, ALU, ALUCA or CII will be desirable. Working experience in insurance and 10 years underwriting experience is a must Hold a substantial financial sum insured authority of at least USD10m, ideally USD15m. Solid experience in underwriting and managing Broker complex or jumbo cases including liaison with Reinsurers. Hold a substantive complex medical health impairment authority to the order of +200% extra mortality or morbidity to Decline. Hold full authority and experience over cross border international geographical, occupational and avocational risk assessment disciplines. Possesses strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills. Be a self-driven, proactive self starter with the ability and attributes to act and perform with minimal direction or instruction. Work beyond the boundaries of usual time and effort in meeting these expectations, creatively and innovatively in often addressing uniquely individual challenges in the High Net Worth Life Insurance market.
