Job Description Mechanical design and development Design mechanical components and assemblies with a heavy emphasis on achieving functionality and reliability with ultra-fast iteration speed. Collaboration with supply chain, vendor, and manufacturers, create design specifications, schematics, and 3D models when needed. Actively evaluate design improvements to develop efficient, low cost, and reliable mechanical components and structures. System integration Integrate mechanical, off-the-shelf electrical components into cohesive robotic system. Help test robotic systems and sub-systems with basic fabrication, machining, wiring, general electronics, debugging skills. Test and optimization ○ Conduct rigorous testing of robotic systems to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency Experiment with new hardware, software, and methodologies to seek potential improvements of our robotic system. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, mechanical engineers, and end-users Prepare technical documentation and reports for the ease of easy communication and knowledge transfer. Provide training and support to clients or end-users on robotic systems Collaboration and Communication The Successful Applicant Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from a good university. Proven experience 5+ years preferred in designing and developing robotic systems, preferably in areas like humanoid robots and robotic manipulation. Hands-on experience with robotic hardware, control systems, and programming. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion, Pro/E, AutoCAD), knowledge of robotic frameworks like ROS and programming languages such as Python and C++. Good understanding of robotic kinematics, and dynamics, knowledge of basic robotic control Good understanding of rapid prototyping and iterative prototyping, experienced on zero to one development, know how to use rapid prototyping methods like 3D printing and modular design.
